Burglin’ Bob

Although developed by the Canadian company Bluberi Gaming Technologies, the top online slot provider Microgaming launched the Burglin’ Bob video slot back in March 2015 on their behalf. This is part of an agreement that they have reached to get their video slots distributed with the help of the Quickfire platform labeled as BBI Interactive. This means Bluberi’s video slots can be played at most of the online casinos that have Quickfire games in their library.

Burglin’ Bob by Microgaming is a 5-reel and 30 payline video slot and as the name of the game implies, the main character Bob is a stereotypical thief looking to steal from shops and break into safes. The game includes Wild Substitution symbols, Scatter symbols and two main bonus features being Free Spins and the Escape Bonus where the latter actually gives you the chance to have a Smash ‘n’ Grab Bonus. This particular video slot offers a top jackpot prize of 30,000 coins.

How to play Burglin Bob Video Slot

Once the Burglin’ Bob Slot by Microgaming loads you will find a very fun looking game screen with cartoon style graphics sat on a backdrop of a wall that has been blown open with dynamite. The game symbols include some standard card symbols being Q, K and A. You also have a torch with keys, a lock and Burglin’ Bob himself. Added to these you have the Jackpot Symbol where 5 of these across the reels will produce the jackpot prize of 30,000 coins. There are also Wild symbols, Free Spins symbols and the Escape Bonus symbol. As you can see this means there is a lot to keep your eye on.

Before you go joining Bob on his antics you should set your cost per spin. Make sure this is at a level you are comfortable to play at. You can do this using the ‘Chip Size’ and ‘Chips Per Line” options toward the bottom of the game screen. The Burglin’ Bob video slot has 4 chip (coin) levels ranging from 1p up to 10p and you can go up to 10 chips per line. Adjusting these options allows you to set the cost per spin to as little as 30p up to a maximum of £30.

To start playing this Microgaming online slot you just need to select the square looking green button on the bottom far right of the game screen. You will also see a ‘Bet Max” button on the right-hand side and an ‘Auto Play’ button on the left. Clicking the Max Bet will spin the reels at the maximum chips per line based on your current coin value. Choosing the AutoPlay feature allows you to have the game spin the reels automatically. You can set the number of spins from 5 up to 25 spins.

Ideally, you will be looking to achieve the 5 jackpot symbols so as to win the top prize but as this may not happen often during your play you will want to try and land any of the bonus feature symbols. Wild symbols help to achieve wins but do not replace the bonus feature symbols so you will need to land at least 3 of those to activate them.

If you land 3 of the Free Spins Bonus symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 then you will be awarded up to 60 free spins and you can earn even more free spins during the feature. There is another small feature called Safe Bonus. If you land 3 or more safe’s then you can choose one to open which will reveal a coin prize.

If you activate the Escape Bonus then you need to match 3 identical amounts in this bonus game. You could win up to 18x your total bet. If during this feature you find 3 symbols showing Bob popping up out of a manhole then you will also activate the Smash ‘n’ Grab  Bonus. Here you need to choose 4 shops to break into and earn yourself up to 100x your total bet. You can even get to choose to break into up to 4 more shops.

Burglin' Bob by Microgaming

Is Burglin Bob the right video slot for you?

The Burglin’ Bob Slot by Microgaming has a theoretical RTP (return to player) of up to 96.5% giving a house edge of 3.5%. This is an average house edge but there are other video slots available with an even higher RTP. We tested the game over 100 spins at £1.50 per spin and found that in our opinion this is a medium to high variance slot. The difference in coin wins from 4 symbols to 5 symbols is quite a big jump with some being over 10 times. You even have to get 4 symbols at times to win a prize.

The game did produce wins fairly frequently with never having a dry spell of more than 8 spins without a win. However, these wins were of a small value so we saw our balance reduce quickly. Also, when we did achieve a feature, the reward was also small. On this basis, we would only suggest playing this slot if you are after a bigger win over a longer period of play. This is not a lot suitable for rolling over any free casino bonus.
